This week I think I would like to talk to you all about school spirit. Normally when we think of school spirit, we think about sports. It is true that attending one of our Urbana University sporting events is a good way to show your school spirit, but attending is not the only way. I hardly have any time to myself right now, let alone time to attend sporting events. Does that mean I don’t show my school spirit? There are many different ways individuals can show pride in their school.

My favorite way is to wear and show off my Urbana Gear. I know just about everyone of you Urbana students has some sort of Urbana sweat pants or bag. Even just wearing the free t-shirt you and I know we all received our freshman year is showing school spirit. I love the fact that I can walk anywhere on campus and see someone wearing our Urbana blue.

I have at least three Urbana shirts that I constantly wear. I especially love to wear them to when I hang out with my friends back home. Without fail they will always ask me, “Where are you going to college?” and I gladly respond “Check out the shirt.” I do need to buy some more Urbana shirts because the white lettering is coming off of the ones I have from the constant wear. My family loves to make fun of my urbana gear but even my uncle has an urbana hat that I bought for him and he wears it quite often.

I think thats all I have to say Knights, Ill see you all next week same time same place.

Hey there knights, I hope you all have had a fantastic week. There were plenty of exciting activities going on this week and even though my blog topic isn’t about these campus happenings I’m going to tell you about them anyway. Relay for Life was going on for the entire day Friday and I cannot begin to name all of the games and activities that occurred. I know they had one thing that always hits home for us college kids; food. I don’t know about you guys but when I have some good food, all is well in my world.

Another great activity that happened this weekend was Titanic: The Musical. The show nights were Saturday and Sunday. We had a full house Saturday and almost a full house on Sunday. This was probably due to the multitude of the cast and crew that were involved in the musical. Not only were students involved in the musical, but community and staff members were invited to join. This made for a wonderful performance.

Alright, I suppose I must write about my actual blog topic for this week. I actually have some great news for you all. I have narrowed down my future plan. I have decided to hopefully graduate with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and then go on to grad school to receive my master’s in speech pathology. The only problem with this is the fact that speech pathology is technically a medical career, but I plan to make up some of these medical courses during the summer or online. Figuring out what you want to do is aways an exciting thing but there is no need to freek out if your not there yet. Remember that everyone decides their future at their own pace.

Thanks for reading my blog this year knights and I hope to write for you all again next year.

Although everyone is busy with term papers and projects, we still manage to make time for some fun! The last few days have been a bit chilly but the sun has been out and people have been spending some free time playing volleyball on the sand volleyball court on campus. We also had Adam Trent, a comedian magician, on campus last night to amaze the students and bring a little laughter to our lives! This coming week we are also going to be hosting out annual Relay for Life event, where activities will be going on all evening long. We will also be having our 6th annual Price is Right event, where we will be giving out some AWSOME prizes! So although the end of the semester is stressful and jam packed with homework the U still knows how to have a good time!

Until next time,

Hello All,

We have three weeks left of class and then finals week and everyone’s stress level is slowing rising. It seems that the last month of the semester is always the most stressful. I have also decided that all professors have a meeting at the beginning of the semester and come up with a day that they are going to make all of their assignments due! I think I have 4 papers due as well as 2 projects due during the same week! By the way the whole meeting that I said the professors have doesn’t really happen. It just sometimes feels that way! So these last few weeks are always stressful but when its all over you are so proud of yourself for getting everything done because from now till finals almost every student is going to say to themselves at least 1 time “I am never going to get all of this done and I am going to fail this class!” So when you turn in that last assignment on time you can’t help but smile and pat yourself on the back for working so hard and getting it all done! So that about all the time I have! I have WAY to much to do to be spending my time blogging! Have a good week!

All over campus, you see pictures and advertisments up about SGA and electing new officers. I hope that each and every one of my fellow UU students will vote this week. We have a lot of good candidates that are running! Also this Wednesday night, there is an act coming from 5:30- 8:30 his name is Adam Trent. He is a comedian and Magician, so I am sure he will be amazing! I know that I am planning on attending this show I hope I will see some of you all there also!!! Oh yeah, and can you believe that there are only three weeks left of actual class and then finals week!!?!?!?! I am soooo excited! Summer Break is just around the corner! Talk to you all soon!

So, you all know how I have been bugging you all year to attend theater productions and about how amazing they are. Lets be honest, a few times you may have ignored my advice. This time, I need you all to pay very close attention to my ramblings about theater.

If you all didn;t see the new Urbana University produciton: The Importance of Being Earnest this weekend, you missed out on a very entertaining show. The Importance of being Earnest its a comedy full of contradcictions that are based on the facts of real life. Its ironcic, lightheated, and sometimes just plain silly. I’m sure every one of you would have liked it. Of course, if you didn’t make reservations, you were pretty much out of luck. It was basicly packed every night. There were even people who came multiple nights.

The cast included: Cody Peterson, Zack Iiams, John-Mark Howley, Branden Sphar, Kelli Subler, Heather Abdalla,Kara Elias, Amanda Rockhold, and Noel Amend. This show was bitter sweet for the cast since this show was Noel’s last as an undergrad. If you didn’t see the show, you should really consider reading the play.

Thats all for now Knights, See you next week.

Saturday, March 3rd – I was able to spend the first four days of spring break with my fiancé Kenzie and my two best friends Krissy and Michael. On Saturday, we went to the Ohio Caverns because I have never been there. I was a great experience and we had a lot of fun, minus the bat flying into my face. After the caverns, we made our way to Columbus, and went to Cosi and the Candle Lab. Cosi was picked because my fiancé has never been there; once again we had a great time there and my favorite part was the diversity room. The Candle Lab is a company where you can make your own candles. Kenzie and I made our candle with the scents of Spiced Rum, Pineapple, and Coconut. It smells very tropical. Last, we ate dinner at Spaghetti Warehouse. Yummmy!!!

Sunday, March 4th – We headed out to Cincinnati so we could eat at IHop and go to the Newport Aquarium. This is somewhere that my good friend Michael had never been to. We spent about three hours at the aquarium, walked around the outlet mall beside it, and ate some Coldstone ice cream, which is my favorite. I really enjoy the aquarium because my favorite animals are penguins and I love the penguin exhibit at the Newport Aquarium.

My height Compared to a Shark!!

Monday, March 5th – This was my best friend, Krissy’s 20th birthday and we celebrated by going to Amish County (Holmes County). We were able to buy a lot of homemade food and just browse the towns. We went to Millersburg, Berlin, and Walnut Creek. I totally fell in love with the Coblentz Chocolate Company, it was sooo delicious.

Tuesday, March 6th – We made our way to Dayton. We went to the Boonshoft Museum, which is totally made for young kids not adults, but we had fun looking at the mummy and the fossil of an ice age sloth. Then we went to the Air Force Museum (which is a free) and got to look at all the cool airplanes and they now have Apollo there!!!!

Kenzie and I at Boonshoft

Wednesday, March 7th – I got a day to relax and was able to finish reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. This is by far the best book I have ever read, I encourage everyone to read it!!!

Thursday, March 8th – I went to my field experience class, and then to work. After that I went and stayed at my fiance’s house!!!
Friday, March 9th – I hung out with my fiancé during the day and around two o’clock, I picked up my niece and nephew from school and took them to my family’s house trailer at Indian Lake for the weekend.

Saturday, March 10th – I was able to participate in the Special Olympics Ohio, Polar Plunge. The water was 38 degrees, and I jumped in with about 50 other people. I thank everyone who donated to this wonderful cause!!!! This event brought in a total of $12,000! There was also a costume contest, and i dressed up as a french artist!!!

I hope that everyone had a good break and did something fun with their time! I had to the chance to go to Wooster, Oh to stay with my fiance Eric and it was so relaxing. I got some extra work done and just hung out with nothing to do, and I loved every second of it. As I got back this week, I had to get back into the swing of things. I really enjoyed coming back because it just means that the end is in sight. Only eight more weeks of class yay!! I want to propose a question and if anyone is interested in replying, I would love it! What should I do next year on my last Spring Break in my college career?? I hope that everyone is enjoying the warm weather and take advantage of it!!

Until next time,
